The TASC Board of Directors and Head Swimming Coach Jon Caswell are announcing an exciting new fundraising effort being launched this month and we are requesting the help of all TASC families to make this a success.
We will be selling gift cards to dozens of local and national retailers, including HEB and WalMart. TASC will receive a percentage of all sales at no incurred cost. The process is known as selling “SCRIPS.” Hundreds of other nonprofit organizations have already made thousands of dollars in revenue selling SCRIPS. The program is offered through the Great Lakes Scrip Center, which is the nation’s largest seller of SCRIPS. Here is how it works:
1. Patron pays for a gift card, example: $100 for a WalMart gift card.
2. Patron pays TASC the $100.
3. TASC mails the money to Great Lakes Scrip Center.
4. Great Lakes mails the gift card to TASC and it is received by the patron within 5 days.
5. TASC receives a percentage of all sales. Profits range from 2 to 15 percent, depending upon retailer.
The process works because the Great Lakes Scrip Center buys the gift cards in bulk for churches, schools and other athletic organizations nationwide and is given a substantial discount. This discount is passed onto TASC in the form of revenue.
This is a great opportunity for TASC to add to our coffers. If every TASC family purchased a $100 HEB gift certificate every month, we would bring in $250.00 alone.
Please consider the attached material and purchase gift cards based on your family’s monthly food and gasoline needs. Orders must be placed by the 28th of each month. Orders can be placed through Patty Anderson or dropping off your order form and check in the office. Please make checks payable to TASC. Gift cards will be received by the 7th of every month.
Pass the word onto friends and relatives and check out the Marriot gift card that can be purchased and used for our upcoming A&M meet in January. Our team will be staying at the Courtyard by Marriot in College Station.
